Support for Implementation - Effective Professional Development Planning
ARPDC believes that effective implementation leads to a change in practice that enhances student learning. Professional development planning based on the intents identified in the Guide to Comprehensive PD Planning and the Guide to Support Implementation: Essential Conditions is our focus. ARPDC supports the belief that successful implementation requires the coordinated, collaborative, and comprehensive efforts of education partners working together towards a shared vision of learning success for all students.
ARPDC, through the learning opportunities planned, provides implementation support that aligns with Alberta Education’s Implementation Cycle and Business Plan and jurisdictions 3 year education plans. Each regional consortium, based on consultation with stakeholders, develops comprehensive plans that meet the expectations of Alberta education and the specific needs within each region.
A variety of delivery methods for learning opportunities are provided to meet the diverse needs of participants and regional context. (e.g., face to face sessions, conferences, cohorts working online, webinars, delivery of PD via video conference or webcast, archived materials posted online) Sessions are planned for teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, school councils and community members.
